In February 2015, Health Canada released WHMIS 2015 based on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of classification and labeling of controlled products. Canadian employers, suppliers, and manufacturers of controlled products will be required to transition to these new WHMIS rules.

With the implementation of the GHS, the WHMIS system has undergone significant change to hazard criteria, classification process, label elements and the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) known under the GHS as Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

This course has been designed to provide participants with a solid comprehension of the GHS and the impact it has on the WHMIS system.  It will allow individuals to implement the new rules which will improve hazard communication linked to controlled products.
